Hanging Guide

Hanging guide

Hang your letters and signs

Pick the mount your order was made for and jump to its steps. Each one takes about 15 minutes and a level.

Adhesive backing

Optional, on request: we apply 3M 468MP adhesive transfer tape to the back of each piece. It is a strong, permanent bond made for smooth, flat, clean surfaces. It does not come off cleanly and can pull paint, so check that it is right for your wall before you order. Not sure? Choose nail holes or standoffs.
1

Check your surface

Smooth, flat, clean and dry. Not for textured walls, brick, stone or fabric.

2

Mark a level line

Run painter's tape along the bottom of where the letters go, using a level.

3

Dry-fit first

Hold each letter in place to check spacing before you peel. Once it touches the wall, it is set.

4

Peel and press

Peel the liner and press each letter firmly into place.

5

Pull the tape line

Remove the painter's tape and step back. Done.

Nail holes

You need: a pin nailer with small pin nails, painter's tape and a level.
1

Mark a level line

Run painter's tape along the bottom edge of where the letters go.

2

Place the first letter

Start with the middle letter and work outward so the name stays centered.

3

Pin it through the holes

Hold the letter in place and fire a small pin nail through each tiny pre-drilled hole. Pin nails are thin enough to all but disappear.

4

Pull the tape line

Remove the painter's tape and step back. Done.

Standoffs

Optional add-on: 1" standoffs (a barrel, cap, screw and wall anchor for each). Add them when you order. You need: a drill, a level and a pencil.
1

Mark the holes

Hold the sign level on the wall and mark through each pre-drilled hole with a pencil.

2

Drill and set the anchors

Drill at each mark and tap in a wall anchor (skip the anchor if you hit a stud).

3

Screw the barrels to the wall

Put the screw through each standoff barrel and drive it into the anchor until the barrel sits snug.

4

Hang the sign and add the caps

Line the sign's holes up with the barrels and thread a cap through each hole into its barrel, hand-tight. The sign floats about an inch off the wall.

Magnets

For fabric photo backdrops. Each letter has a magnet on the back and comes with a matching magnet for behind the fabric.
1

Lay out on the floor first

Arrange the letters so you know the spacing.

2

Place letter by letter

Hold the backing magnet behind the fabric and set the letter in front so they grip through it.

3

Reuse them

Magnets come off clean. Store letters flat between events.
