What changes the price
- Size. The biggest factor. Price follows the overall width and height of the finished sign.
- Backing. Letters only is the most affordable. A wood or acrylic backer panel adds material and finishing time, and acrylic backs cost the most.
- Detail in your logo. Very thin lines or tiny text may need to be simplified or enlarged so they cut cleanly. We send a digital proof before we cut anything.
- Quantity. Ordering matching signs for several locations or rooms? Ask about volume pricing.
How to choose the right size
- Measure the wall. A lobby logo usually looks balanced at about one third to one half of the wall's width.
- Think about viewing distance. A common sign-industry rule of thumb is about 1 inch of letter height for every 10 feet of viewing distance. If people read the sign from 20 feet away, keep the smallest text at least 2 inches tall.
- Tape it up first. Cut a piece of paper or painter's tape to the size you are considering and look at it from the door. It is the easiest way to avoid ordering too small.
Common sizes by space
- Reception desk or small office wall: 12x24 to 24x36
- Main lobby or waiting room: 24x36 to 24x72
- Church welcome wall or large entry: 24x72 to 36x48, or a custom size
