Step 1: Measure the wall you actually have
Measure the open space where the sign will hang, not the whole wall. Behind a reception desk, that is usually the space between the top of the desk and the ceiling, and between any doors, art or windows on each side. Write down the width and height.
Step 2: Think about where guests will read it
A sign that people see from across a lobby needs larger letters than one they read at arm's length in a hallway. Stand where a guest first walks in and picture the sign from there. If your logo has fine lines or small words, size up so those details stay readable.
Step 3: Tape a paper template before you order
Cut kraft paper or taped-together printer paper to the size you are considering and tape it to the wall. Leave it up for a day. If it looks small from the door, try the next size up. This is the most reliable way to choose, and it costs nothing.

- With a back panel (wood or acrylic): the logo sits on one solid piece, which reads as one finished sign and is easier to hang level.
- Letters only: each letter or logo piece mounts straight to the wall for a clean, built-in look. It takes more care to space and level during install.
